It Do Make a Difference

[rating:6.5/10]

Last month, I reviewed Same Kind of Different as Me and received a nice comment and email about the review from someone who works at the publishing company. A week or so later, I received a copy of the follow up book, What Difference Do It Make?. In short, a solid follow up to a life changing book.

It’s not quite as powerful as the first book, in my opinion, mostly because the original story just sucked you into it in a way most stories fail to do. This isn’t to say that this book is not powerful, but it’s hard to live up to Ron Hall and Denver Moore’s first collaboration.

What Difference reads like a testimonial to how Same Kind of Different changed the lives of its readers, in fact, if you read this book first, I suspect you will run out and grab their first book… but, I digress. Interwoven between the words of Denver and Ron, recounting parts of their life and story are stories of how others have taken to the business of changing lives and making a difference.

If nothing else, this book is encouraging. On this 2010 celebration of the life of an amazing difference maker, the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., it’s important to see that there are still people who try to live their life in a way that serves others.

So, if you are like me and can’t help but feel like you should be doing something a little bit more, then take inspiration from this book and the spirit of Dr. King and take the steps to answer the question, “What difference do it make?”
